Oly doesn't make an interchangeable lens digital camera. They
indicate 2 main reasons:
1. Digital cameras prefer their light diving straight in, rather than on
a angle at the edges, so lenses need some special optics at the
back to help that out
2. The CCDs that collect the lite are very sensitive to dust.
These may be corrected or compensated for in the future, but...
maybe not.
The currently smaller-than-24x36 CCDs should be corrected in the
near future, at least for professional cameras. Amateurs can enjoy the
smaller size, lighter weight, and better DOF of smaller CCDs.
It may be that 990f all film cameras are doomed to obselesence
over the next decade.
