Reading the manual for the MD1, you find that film winding speed goes down with 
the voltage drop caused by e.g. the 10m relay cord. So, the 5 frames per second 
must be at 18V, while lower voltages like 15V will get the speed down to 
something like 4 fps. 

With the relay cords you can also use a 12V car battery by plugging the DC 
source into small tab holes on the relay cord adaptor.
