That would be Jim Brokaw. He snatched it up from under
me and I got an acute case of Zuikoholism. I obsessed
over that thing for 2 weeks. I just had to have one,
and to have the lens snatched away from me at the last
second drove me slightly mad. So I took the money I
had made over 3 months of exterior housepainting (its
a dirty job and 8hrs a day nets you 10 bucks per hour)
The money I had planned to buy my dream computer
system with... I had that money in my hand when I
called B&H with an insane gleam in my eye. I put in
the order over the phone and then sat down, thinking,
"My God what have I done." Of course that feeling went
right away when the box came in a few days later and I
opened it to find inside a work of art in aluminum and
glass :) Of course even the 24 shift is too cheap to
get a nice aluminum case, all I got was a big regular
case with that crappy little strap. The lens itself is
a wondorous artifact. The case though is just plain,
and I still cant get over the fact that they gave me
that cruddy little nylon strap that will break in oh
say 6 months.
