Hawaii Photo Supply was asking $379.99 BIN for this lens week after
week. That would have been a record high price on eBay for any
condition. They were clearly trying for the magic 800f new grey
market price barrier. Demand isn't there is justify it. FWIW, there
were 16,000 to 17,000 of these made to date.

In contrast, the T28 Macro Twin Flash 1 does command those find of
prices - one of the few Olympus OM items I can recall which does. Which
someone at Olympus might conclude means the dealer cost on this is too
low.

One of the problems in mail ordering Zuikos are that dealers aren't very
wise to variations. I can't think of any major dealers who, in their
price lists, differentiate by coating, for instance. Buy from a List
member or knowledgable eBay seller and you can be sure you are getting
the variety you want - that is perhaps why those individuals are getting
good prices for their Zuikos.
