A lot of labs can be like Bart Simpson.........."I didn't do it".  If the
film is warped, you can bet it's something they did.

I remember a load of 120 wedding pictures we processed at a lab that I once
did time at.  The film came out completely black, even the edges and space
between frames.  Other rolls, from other photographers in the same run were
fine. It seems a disgruntled competing wedding studio had access to his
exposed film and either put it inside a dry mount press or an oven,
completely fogging it.
