I'm just surprised that it doesn't include at least OM2000-level spot
metering. A body that can shoot in battery-less manual mode and also in full
auto mode with batteries is not unremarkable though. I have an FM2 and FE2,
the features of which this camera sort of combines. Unless one pops for fast
glass, the dimness of the screen at slower than f2.8 is annoying. Oly's OTF
exposure system frees the viewfinder path to take the brighter screens, and
this is worth more to me than the FM3A's unique blending of manual and auto
capabilities. I would probably be happy with it with a fast zoom in cold
weather, otherwise it is really no more useful to me than an OM-2N. I don't
think Nikon has raised the bar, but I guess, as you say, it's nice to have
somebody even show up.

I'm wondering about the display too. I would guess it's not a sweet analog
display as in the FE2, but more like the FM2/FM10/OM2000 LED type.
