Not really but I found a small yet strong metal equipment case essential to
enlarge my body which is way too short for stage photography in the midst of
a crowd...

Don't know but I can tell you this feature isn't going to help you a lot ;)

It isn't supposed to darken until an F5.6 lens is mounted...

Aye - one of my favorite focal lengths too - have 4 of them...
