Ray Moth asked
I'm curious to know how and when List members got into the OM system.

Well, I started in '75/76 time; I bought a black OM2 + 50/1.8 after I had
seen and handled a friend's new OM1. I was pretty naïve at the time so I
added a Sigma Zoom instead of the more obvious Zuiko 75-150 and was happily
snapping and loving the camera.

I thought that it was the end of it in '78 when, for financial reasons, I
sold all my gear. But then the OM10 appeared, which looked like a
half-price OM2 and, as finances had picked up again, I bought a '10 body
with ManAd and a 50/1.8. I added 24/2.8, 135/3.5 and T20 over the years,
quietly and privately lusting after the single digit OMs.

My little outfit kept me going until about 1995, when I spotted an advert
in AP where someone was offloading what was, for me, a large OM4 kit at a
dealer trade-in price.

>From this kit, I had to sell-on the 300/4.5 + 1.4xa and the 85mm plus my
original OM10+50/1.8 to pay for the full outfit. It was very painful, but
it was the only way I could justify the purchase to the distaff side. This
left me with an OM4, 135/2.8, 50/1.8, T32+Zoom thingy+BG2, Vivitar 28/2,
couple of screens, masses of filters, manual tubes, neveready case and
Billingham Bag, all for the price of a 15year old OM10 plus ManAd and
50/1.8 lens!

Still had the my T20, 24/2.8 and 135/3.5.

In 97 I bought a worn OM4Ti +50/1.4 and then swapped the OM4 for a Tamron
SP500 Mirror lens. Bought another '10 with Tokina 28-80 but gave these to a
niece with the 135/3.5. More recently bought an OM30+50/1.8 and T32 because
they were a very good price. Had to bid on UK Ebay for a '30 manual ? got
it for £1 plus £1 postage ? what a useless manual!

Just in case you got lost, kit is now
OM4Ti, OM30, Zuikos 24/2.8, 50/1.4, 50/1.8, 135/2.8 T32 x2, T20, BG2,
Manual Tubes

non-Oly is Vivitar 28/2 and Tamron SP500/8, Auto Tubes

That's the state of play at the moment ? most recently, bought a
Pearlcorder just because it was there and cheap!
