Well I've been on one of those "true goals of the photographer" list.
A more concentrated bunch of egotistical, short tempered, snobbish,
award waving, "artistes" I've ever argued with. just the opposite of
this list which, even in it worst moments, is pretty damn good. Too
much philosophy (goals) tends to also boil over the pot and drench the
creative fire.

Yes, but I want to know WHY she chose THOSE variables and why she
doesn't choose OTHERS at times.

So have I. Because I have produced a few prints that are "just as
good" - even some PEPPERS that old EW missed. I've used their
"choices" to
change/modify/confirm my "choices" of approach and technique. An I've
also read of their humanity through my history studies, so their
pedestals aren't that high anymore.}:-)>>

>Exactly. She's concentrating on more important issues.

That too bad as we could learn a lot from each other.
We- the use of a simpler approach to photographic expression through
less.
She- that there are "other choices" and a excellent people resource to
helping her chose..

 > Simplicity is the key IMHO.
But it doesn't UNLOCK "all" the problems of approach/technique.

>Edward Weston turning down Ansel Adams' offer of a superior lens.

He also rejected most of the technology of his times. Up to and
including his buddies (AA) zone system.
We should admire his quality of "choices" and not his quantity of
them.

>Perhaps I'm on the wrong mailing list...?

Maybe your are. Maybe your not. That's one of your "choices". I don't
think your are, given that you are thinking about your choice.

yours how do you get rid of this soapy film on your shoes,
