Amen to that Wayne. It seems that US buyers have real problems. I have had
Bank Money Orders in USD - banks here charge a lot to process them but do
accept them, especially from major US banks. My Credit Union charges
nothing for the service :-) but makes me wait about 15 working days for the
money :-(
If I want to pay someone in the US, I buy a Western Union International
Money Order from my local (ruralish) Post office in US dollars at that
day's rate and post it. It costs me AU$8.00 - less than US$5.00! It's as
good as cash in the US. It amazes me that the same procedure does not seem
to work in reverse, given that Western Union is a US org., even if I have
to get an IMO in USD. Go yell at WU very loudly and demand answers?
Andrew
