I've quickly read through this thread and while I'm not an audiophile.....
I would have to liken Kenwood stereo/hifi equipment to Olympus cameras. I bought
a Kenwood KA-3500 amp back in 1976, about the same time as my OM-1md. The price
and reviews at the time put it at the lower mid-range end. It's all metal
enclosure is well built and takes abuse. The electronics produce a clean, clear
signal, aside from a slightly scratchy volume control, through my Advent Legacy
speakers.
And most importantly, like my OM-1 it REFUSES TO DIE!
