Hi Giles:

<< The 250/2 might be the rarest Zuiko to find used - one every two
years on
the net?. I would say the one on eBay at $2099 was an absolute bargain
if
it was in good condition. I think one should reasonable expect more like
$2500 for a good one. >>

At least once every eight months. I'm not sure what you mean by "good."
8 condition (KEH=BGN) examples have all sold for under $2000 via
Internet sales.

I examined the $2099 eBay one at a camera show. It was engraved with a
couple of numbers on the lens hood, otherwise 9 (KEH=Ex) condition. What
Skip's history doesn't reflect (besides condition) is the value added:
an Olympus 2X teleconverter and an original case.

<< If you can find a 90/2 macro for the eBay average I think you are
doing
well. I wonder if the average has been distorted by poor condition
examples or something as I would have said $600 - 700 was a more typical
price range for one in nice condition. >>

Indeed, the average is confounded by 7 (KEH=UGLY), 8 and engraved
examples.
