I don't know. It might affect perceptions more than performance,
and that might not be the same now as it was in 1984.

In the case of the Aria, it does affect performance because you
have to pass through program mode to switch between manual and
aperture priority. In the case of the Pentax, it may be why
f/32 is unusable on Tamron lenses. (Or it may not, but f/32 *is*
unusable.)

Less than 1, since I remember to take them out. The down side is
that I don't always remember to put them back in and end up with
only 1/60 available. The OM-4 OTOH chews them like lollies (even
though it was measured as "good" with a multimeter), perhaps
partly due to the way it's used. These batteries are expensive here.

The whole experience is driving me towards a fully-mechanical
solution. I never had these problems with the OM-1.

At least it isn't as bad as the wonderbricks. There was an article
in a recent _Popular Photography_ in which the author congratulated
himself on using only 40 lithiums on his trip to Antarctica. That's
AUD $1040 of batteries. He had another 40 spares.
