It doesn't. The camera thinks at all times the lens is wide open. In Auto Mode, 
it
doesn't matter. Light is measured OTF after the aperture is stopped. For Manual
Mode or when working with a manual camera, the front plate of the Auto Bellows 
has
a lever that closes the auto aperture for metering. And of course, not only the
light value (subject reflectance) and aperture value determine exposure, but 
also
the bellows extension.
