As a former vintage automobile enthusiast, I can sympathize with your fears
about gov't control over cars. I lost thousands of dollars on two old BMWs
and a Porsche. The state of Virginia, where I live, does not want me to
have them, so I have sold all but one of them, a 1971 BMW 2002. Email me
off line if you are interested. We now lease a Saturn, and I want to buy an
electric car, the Sparrow, but do not have the funds after flushing all
that money down the toilet called the "old car hobby."

Fortunately, photography is a much less environmentally damaging hobby to
pursue, mercury batteries and all. I was just thinking how wasteful
flashbulbs are - use them once, toss them in the trash, can't recycle them.
Still small fry compared to the air pollution from cars (and trucks and
busses, etc.).

It also looks like I'm going to be known as "single coated man" since I
lost out on yet another bidding war on eBay. This time a 50mm f/1.4 MC that
went for 91$. My max was 90$. Ah, yet to live and bid another day......

Be seeing you.
