I think you should look at a camera which has auto exposure capability as well 
as 
manual.  As you mentioned the 'art' in photography, exposure can play a big 
role so a 
camera with a spot meter would be my recommendation as it can teach you a lot 
about 
exposure as well as provide good ones when you learn how to use it.  In order 
of 
preference I would say OM4, OM3, OM2 spot Program, and OM2000.

Even though I mentioned auto exposure capability the OM3 and OM2000 have spot 
meters 
which I think would be even more important.

£200 sounds like too much for an OM1.  Take a look at -

And search for om1 or olympus and you will find better prices, like £35 for a 
complete OM1 system.  Could be an miss print of course.

Do not write off being able to afford something like an OM4 either.  If you are 
patient a cheap one will probably come along.  Try looking in photo-shops in 
smaller
towns or keep an eye on LOOT.
