I always like the LEICA M System (and others), but for a lot of reasons I
like very much the OLYMPUS OM System.

On April 1998 one friend of mine wants to sell me a Leica M 2 plus a lens
Summicron 50 mm f 2.

During a week I have with me the M 2 and the Summ. with the intention of to
do a parallel test vs the OM 1n with the Zuiko 50 1.8 " MC " (not the
plastic "made in Japan"). I put on every camera a roll of Sensia II 100 ASA
and a new battery 625 on the OM1n, the camera that I use as light metter.

I shoot 37 slides on every camera over exactly the same objets and
conditions, almost 15 slides on a big park, ( trees, flowers, buildings,
fountains, etc, etc) and the next 15 slides on my system of test "real
time, real light" over a big building in front of my house, with the roof of
tiles, including walls with brown bricks, grey walls, balconys with awnings
on colours grey, green, blue, etc and with a perfect parallels white lines
on. All at 9.30 am with the spanish light of April and the sky totally
clean of clouds. The rest of the slides, inside my home : oranges,
platanos, apples, toys, a newspaper, etc, etc.

I look at the slides a lot of times, and I think that both groups are one
very near of the other and viceversa, But if I must choose one... I prefer
the Olympus team.
