AFAIK, this is supposedly a terrific lens.  If the store will
pick up the repair tab, it's probably worth going through with
it.  The good news (for you!) is that Tamron has no authorized
repair outlets, and so all their lenses must go back to Tamron
USA in Farmingdale, NY where your lens is guaranteed to receive
a professional treatment.  The bad news is that, in case you
must pay for it yourself, Tamron USA repairs are not cheap.
I believe they charge a min. of $100 for repairs of SP models.
