However, the Nikon manual focusing system is rather limited. According
to http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/C950/C950A.HTM :
Manual focus option, with 10 focus steps from 4 inches (10cm) to
infinity.
I believe you are expecting something like a manual focus SLR.
