The M18v grip is designed for alkaline batteries. It takes 12 cells, and
commonly available AA liths have the same voltage as an alkaline, so no
problem.
It is possible to order 3V lithium AA batteries -- the normal valence for
lithium chemistry, but you don't see those in stores.
