I'm in agreement on going back to a 1-series screen. My OM-2S has a 2-4
(all-matte) screen installed and it is absolutely the only way to go when
dealing with macro or long tele lenses. Granted, the Bokah is blown out of
the sky, but ease of focusing results in a far higher "hit rate."

The Om-1 has a 1-4 screen installed and the difference is amazing. If I am
after critical focus it is almost impossible to achieve without grabbing
the varimaggot fryer. The Bokah is correct, but unfortunately my subject
ends up in the blurrs too.

As far as "focus snap", I find that it is the magnification of the OM
viewfinders that cause the problem of "lack of snap." Once I installed
-diopters it changed the apparent sizing of the screen which did add some
snap.

Oh, and I just discovered with my OM-2s, that the "Viewfinder Snap" is film
dependent. Kodachrome has better snap than E-6 films. However, T-MAX
gives absolutely no snap in the viewfinder.
