Thanks again Clyde for you time and comments,

But its the last nth of sharpness (and composition of course) that
separates the images that sell or win competitions. I don't find a 10x is
adequate to determine that final level of "tack sharp."
Use a *good* 4x loupe for judging the image and stronger loupe for checking
sharpness. Most
8x loupes are junk. You can't judge lens quality by looking through cheap
 plastic.
Snip!
Yep, Junk loupes are a waist of $$'s. I really like my 4X #1990 Anastigmatic
Peak. The 10X #1983 is a drastic difference over the 4X, maybe I should have
chosen for the #2016 15X.

Hate to say it but the laws of physics dictate you can't achieve pro level
 without the right tools.
Snip!
Precisely my point.

There is no substitute for long, fast glass for sports and nature.

Agreed, I have a 300mm f 2.8 Tamron and a 500mm f4.5 Sigma APO. Both are
reported to be Professional Lenses. I would love to have the big Zuiko's but
you can bet I will have to "SEE" an improvement over what I already own before
I spend the difference. This is exactly why I am trying to learn how to
compare lenses.

There is no 35mm that can compare with medium or large format for landscape.
Snip!
I would never try to compare a 35mm to larger formats.

Given that, you need to accept the limitations of your system and make the
 best with what you have.
Snip!
Thats why I am trying to weed out and plan on my next lens.

Your zoom is convenient for travel.
Snip!,
I personally think "quality" zooms have had a bad rap for too long. I am sure
zooms deserved the bad reputation 20 to 30 years ago. But, some of the better
quality ones designed in the 1980s are not in the same class. In my readings
on nature photography, at least 2 professionals use zoom lenses for specific
situations. John Shaw uses an old Nikon 35-135mm (I think) for landscape,
sunsets, etc. L.L.Rue uses a 80 -200 Leica. He says the zoom is "THE" lens
to use for photographing Rams fighting etc. Both of their books are full of
quality pictures taken with these lenses. So I figure, if Zooms are good
enough for Shaw and Rue, then who am I to argue.
The next step I have is to see how much I am losing. So far, from my first
meager test, not much.
Thanks again for your help.
