For this you have to put the shorter lens on the longer, the longer on the
camera. If you could extend the ring between the lenses you could do good
to vignetting, but no personal experience on this.

that is due to high magnification, you'd have the same DOF with any method
for a given magnification. Well, maybe there are small differences, but
this is the rule.

Of course, you are using a kind of very corrected close up lens this way.

I had been using the 100+50 combo successfully in the past. But if you
*have* those lenses you can *try*, don't you?
