The Popular Photography test at:
http://www.astro.wellesley.edu/lhawkins/photo/pop-photo-zuiko-tests.txt
showed the 35-105 to have significant performance loss 2/3rds out and at the
edge of the frame. It was rather soft at close focus limits. In comparison
to a Canon FD with the same specifications (almost to the point that I
wondered if it was contracted to the same firm), the FD is a much better
performer.

I'm suprised that no one mentioned the close focus performance of zooms. That
is where they tend to really suffer as opposed to primes.
