John,

My worst experiences of OM-gear is with the OM2Sp. Originally my wifes
camera, electronics died on her and had to be replaced (at the time these
were readily available). Since these new electronics played havoc with her
as well (ISO dropping out frequently), she ultimately lost her patience and
went to Pentax auto-focus (shudder). I overtook the camera and used it only
for a couple of months until one cold evening (-15 C) the winding mechanism
got stuck and eventually the whole camera got jammed. Now it was my turn to
loose my patience. Since repair costs were equal to a good used OM2 I never
fixed it.

Of course others may have totally different stories, but since you asked for
an opinion, well, if I had a good working, OM2, no way I would trade it for
an OM2Sp.
