I would guess around $700.

I think that autofocusing is important to the whole OM system. The entry
level cameras will provide the user base for the pro-OM autofocus system. It
is only when we have a whole system that Olympus can afford to produce the
specialized lens that we so love. On the other hand I suppose that we can
have two or three of levels of manual focus bodies but, because the user
support base will be much smaller, we won't be able to look forward to lots of
specialty accessories. Oh well. The OM 2000 is a good start but we need
something between the OM 2000 and the OM4Ti.

I think that P*nt*x has shown that the most essential functions can be crammed
into a very small body. Many of the functions that most users would want can
be done electronically (except mechanical shutters, etc.).

Multiple spot metering without a doubt. This is where Olympus is unique and
cannot be given up.

Because Olympus has discontinued R&D on new lenses (other than the wonderful
35-80 which I don't have), we should all swallow our pride and ask Olympus to
contract these items out. We need some zoom lenses in the wide area and some
new zooms in the long range.
