In the past we had a lot of "milk bars" in urban Australia, "general stores" in
rural areas. Most of them have been replaced with "convenience stores", mainly
7-11. Normally the milk bars would be scattered around in suburban streets,
often near schools, providing lunches and treats for students but also items
that local residents might require like milk, bread, and other grocery items.
Rarely did they have seating for a meal inside but often they would have a few
tables and chairs outside.

Your example looks "up market" in comparison and very good value.
