Did you know that bears in Alaska know how to open doors?
I've been a bit quiet lately. More than a bit, probably. As verbose as
I normally am, it does seem a bit out of character. Well, there are a
few reasons.
I went through a LONG divorce. That was a year-long process, but it is
finally done. Yay. All is well in that regard, and the ex is 3000+
miles away. I'm happy for the divorce, but the process really stinks.
I could have purchased a REALLY NICE camera kit for what the lawyers
cost. Regardless, that was an extremely stressful time that sucked the
joy out of a lot of things.
Secondly, I've gotten back into music production in a big way. I'm
mixing bands around a half dozen times a month and I'm producing EDM
music. The live cover bands certainly address any need I have for
boomer music. I'm 100% into EDM though. I've spent a small fortune on
music items (still less than the divorce lawyer), but amazingly it's
all paid for itself and then some already. Not bad for not having a
clue what I'm doing. :)
Thirdly, as the picture shows, there is something else in play. Format
Change. I've been transitioning and that has taken quite a bit of a
toll on things. It's a LONG LONG LONG process. The physical changes
take time, but the social changes are exceptionally difficult and
challenging. I've had to lay low as this stress (combined with the
other stresses) has been rough.
All in all, I haven't really taken many pictures over the past dozen
months. Lots of distractions from photography and different priorities
for a bit. At some point I will be merging EDM with photography, but
at the moment my priorities are the music and my personal health.
