I think I fall into the second category. I go over the technical stuff
just enough to do what I want to do and ignore the rest. It's like the
infotainment system in my BMW. I have no idea what all it does. But
the 194-way adjustable seats? Oh yeah!

I would agree with this perspective. I bought it for a reason. Once
that reason is addressed, then I can explore everything else.
Otherwise, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. There are
people who always buy brand new cars or cameras every year. It's not
that the purchase satisfies any specific fantasy or use that the old
one didn't, it's just a matter of replacement and incremental
improvements. The E-M5ii purchase is for a very specific application.
I'm actually quite happy as a clam with it for that application. The
fact it is also a reasonably good picture taking machine is just icing
on the cake. I'll almost certainly use it as a leverage to acquire
something higher end with the same color science.
