First thing I saw was not the subject, but the LR pano perspective problem. The
center bulges up/out and the skyline
drops off to the sides like Dwayne Johnson's shoulders.
I looked again at what you are referencing. There is the "appearance"
of that characteristic, however if you look more closely at the
right-hand side, you'll see that the more distant mountain doesn't
slump down. On the left side, the equivalent distant mountains are
obscured by the clouds. This image was actually heavily corrected to
fix the slumps and bulges. When I edited the photograph, it took quite
a bit of work to counteract that slump appearance because of how the
light and dark plays on the closer mountains and draws the eyes
downward away from the true horizon.

This is why I prefer Hugin, awful though its interface is. I can get a good perspective without lots of individual area messing.

It's also why I have the Voightländer Hyper-Wide 10/5.6. Sans travel, even local, I've had no opportunity to use it seriously, but I'm really looking forward to being able to "just take the picture", without a lot of stitching and correcting.

Even a fisheye can be a useful alternative, de-fished in post. <http://www.moosemystic.net/Gallery/tech/Lenses/Panny_8mm3dot5/UnFish.htm>

The way we think of and perceive the world is mistaken. Our consciousness is
structured such that no matter how carefully we may think, no matter how hard
we may try to grasp the world around us, the conclusion we arrive at is always
different from what things are actually like, and it is our acting upon this
mistaken perception that leads to suffering. - Chomsky Maiman Ricochet
I find it slightly interesting that I present an image with minimal
processing in order to reflect the world more true to what it was than
my preferred interpretation. And I get all sorts of recommendations on
how to edit it.

Addition to the quote: "The way cameras and lenses reproduce the world is mistaken., in a different way than our human perception. "
