What is "a non-OM-2S body"?

Are you referring to it being a cousin, rather than direct offspring?

Curious, confused minds....

The 600 was nearly impossible to get a sharp image on an OM body. That
beast conspired against you in every conceivable and inconceivable
manner.

The 300/4.5 seems to be OK at some shutter speeds and whether or not
you are using an MD2. I think the MD2 on the OM-3Ti/4Ti combined with
the 300/4.5 is quite good. However, a non-OM-2S body plus 300/4.5 on a
tripod is going to be a problem at any shutter speed faster than about
1/60. Slower and the vibration becomes only a fraction of the exposure
and gets masked. The aperture prefire mechanism of the OM-2S largely
addresses aperture vibration.

The one lens which is frustrating on an OM body (without MD2) is the
200/4. The lens/camera combination seems to have a resonant frequency
that is triggered by the aperture actuator. Other lenses I've had in
that focal length range seem to do ok, but the 200/4 is frustrating.
However, when doing longer exposures, or flash exposures, the images
were bloody sharp. So, it's totally a vibration issue. On digital
bodies, as there is no aperture actuator to worry about, the 200/4 is
exceptional at any shutter speed. Throw in IBIS and the 200/4 really
shines. There is a little bit of CA, but that's addressed with a
single click in Lightroom.
