Here is an interesting twist.
I got my flight tickets to SCC (Deadhorse - Prudhoe Bay) and there is
a fascinating requirement. They won't even let you on the airplane
unless you have some of your arctic gear with you inside the aircraft.
Insulated boots (not necessarily the bunny boots, though), parka,
gloves, headwear... Don't even think of wearing shorts!
When you get off the airplane you have to walk across the tarmac to
the terminal. They require you to be ready for that experience as the
temperatures can be rather cold and the winds are wicked.
I'm just thinking about which cameras to take with me on this 9 day adventure.
