This chemical leaves a residue on lenses, sensors, etc.

Is this based on your experience, something you have heard or an assumption? I ask because I've used Dust-Off extensively on sensors, lenses and film I'm scanning, and I've never noticed any residue, even wiping the unexposed edges of film.

I buy my canned air from an industrial supply company, Kimko. Theirs has
NO cap added, and leaves no residue. Oh, its cheaper, too! Here’s the kind
I buy:

I don't think it's cheaper, as Kimko is expensive for shipping. Buying three, which lowers average shipping cost and is the pack size at Costco, they are $10.37 per 10 oz. can. Dust-off cans at Costco are 12 oz, and I'm sure they are less than $30, including Cal sales tax. My sense is a lot less, but it's been ages since I've bought any, as my scanning activity is way down.

I'll check before buying more. I do like KimWipes.
