Inside the Dzongs, yes, inside the temples within them, no. We were supposed to be able to photograph inside one temple in a monastery (although not the altar), but it was closed or had changed the rules. Maybe was was just raining so hard that they didn't want a lot of water tracked in.

We were able to photograph inside a small one that was decommissioned while being restored. The altar was completed. You can get a small idea of what the ones in the larger, newer ones are like. <https://photos.app.goo.gl/Qa493xRxccYrkb5v2>

More pix to come of the art and the restoration work in progress.

They vary a lot, of course, from large statues, etc., in very cramped spaces to 
even larger ones in spacious settings.
