I like B, I believe it has Olympus sensor.

All are Olympus bodies. Two with old Kodak CCD sensors, one with recent Panny
sensor, all with Oly electronics and firmware.

At the risk of embarrassing myself: A is the D300*

B is the D300 with a different setting

E-1, aRGB (That's all I ever varied. All image settings at defaults.)

C is the E-1

E-300. sRGB

D is the E-1 with a different setting

E-300. aRGB

E is unknown, but hard to tell as the white balance doesn't match. If the WB matched, I'd say another Canon

E-M5 II, aRGB (No Canons with interchangeable lenses hereabouts.)

While I appreciate the exercise, it's a little meaningless to those of who who severely punish pixels. It's when you crank the volume to 11 that you can really see the differences.

You don't get off that easily. I intentionally started this with a reply to one of your paeans of praise for Jim's E-1 shots of fall color with the E-1. Jim is a good post processor, but doesn't bend slider stops - or much abuse pixels. :-)

The E-300 is included 'cause it's 8 vs 5 MP and the last Kodak CCD sensor in an Oly body. If I am forced to use an ancient body to please you, 8 MP is potentially nicer. The E-330/L1/Leica whatsit went to a Panny sensor for LV. What do I have to do to get praise for fall color shots??? :-)

Also, the side flipping mirror thingie is geeky cool. ;-)

In my first tests, it was really weird colored. I was shooting all in aRGB, 'cause that's what I always shoot, and I didn't know there would be a big difference. Investigation showed that it was on firmware 1.0.  "E-300 Firmware Ver1.1 has incorporated the following upgrade. . . . -     Highlighted parts appeared pink when the color space was set to [Adobe RGB] and [CUSTOM WB] was set to a low color temperature. This situation has been improved."

Weelll, even at 5300K, the color was weird in aRGB. Upgrading to 1.5 made it much better, but still oddly warmer than the E-1.

Those Cyclamens are planted where they are in deep shade at this time of year. Look at the exposures, 1/10 sec, F8, ISO 200, on a sunny afternoon. With the bodies set to daylight/5300K, they should look very cool. I think the E-M5 II is probably the most color accurate.

But this isn't about color accurate, it's about magic colors. Secrets revealed
in next post - da, da, da, dum.

Which Color Moose

* I', guessing you mean a Canon 300D. D300 is a Nikon body. How could I use the Oly 14-54 on a Canon or Nikon?? All shot with that same lens.

What if the Hokey Pokey *IS* what it's all about?
