Thanks for those ideas, Scott.  I’ve set up OpenDNS and I’m happy with my 
connection’s performance. although contention rate is sometimes a problem at 
peak times.

I have an IP camera on my property which I like to access when I’m away, 
although I’m not sure if that is necessarily easier with the static IP.
