Sorry if this post is repetitive as this is a near spinal reflex: When Moose
brings up the Big Ol' Nikkor, must mention the petite Cosina Voigtlander Apo
Lanthar 180/4 in OM mount which is a small gem. It is pocketable, a feat for
FF lenses, and is tack sharp wide open.
It is a dream lens for mid-distances and macro with excellent bokeh. It
behaves very well on extension with excellent working distance as FL shortening
is minimal unlike most dedicated macro lenses. The lens natively goes to 1:4.
Probably something Oly would have made had they been in the OM business a bit
longer. I dearly like that lens. In case I didn't mention it yet--it is
really quite compact and looks nice to boot.

CV180 f4: 485 gm 66mm X 59mm --49mm filter!! MFD 1.2m Max mag 1:4
bokeh very nice

Zuiko 200 f5 MC: 380gm 105mm X 62mm 49mm filter MFD 2.5m Max mag
about 1:10
MC very tough to find too. Bokeh--I don't know but if like the 200/4
likely so- so FF, even if good on FT, MFT.

BTW, have enjoyed Jim's bird series quite a bit.
