Thanks to those who choose to play a no win game - except for the fun, of
course. :-D

Well Mystrious Moose

The first is the bottom of a copper funnel, I should guess.

Well, yes, I can see that - now. :-)

Impossible to guess, I think. This is what the ground looked like as I sat at a picnic table after some heavy rain. <http://galleries.moosemystic.net/MooseFoto/index.php?gallery=Tech/Misc&image=_B005825oof50.jpg>

On the ground was a tiny, maybe 1/8" sq., piece of glitter; lots of kids birthday parties in this park. With the sun reflecting fully off it, I took this intentionally very OoF shot, and liked the results. It wasn't very interesting in focus; didn't even push the button. ;-)

The second is tricky, but it must be a macro shot of an old leaf, perhaps on a
lake bed or wet mud near a lake.

This is the weird one. A pretty straightforward focus stack of a leaf, maybe 7" long, lying on a slightly reflective surface. The surface ended, in very dark area, too close visually to the top of the leaf. So I selected that area in PS and tried Content Aware Fill. CAF is sometimes astonishingly good, sometimes so-so, sometimes just weird. This was the latter, with artifacts that looked remarkably like distant mountains. But I kinda liked it, so I went with it, trying out a couple of other results, moving things around, removing a few artifacts that didn't fit.

So a shot that covers a couple of feet of actual subject looks like one of those things you and Rick guessed. I love serendipity.

The third is a charcoal drawing.

This is a C-U of a scraped area on a yellow enamel surface. I think it looks like a drawing, too, which is why I shot, processed and posted it it.

The fourth is the bottom of a plate with dents to give it a stand on the
underside.

I can see that. Actually the reverse, the top of an outdoor stool, with drain
holes.

I’m being bold, here . . .

Indeed! And I much appreciate it! I would certainly never have seen the downward tapered opening appearance of the first. I also like separating images from the things that were photographed in interesting ways.

1. Serena Williams winning ball

I LOVE it! I'm surprised no one suggested the final asteroid, entering our atmosphere. It does look fast and hot. I also thought the background looks rather like clouds at night.

or a moose-made pinhole lens.

2. Dead leaf on s frozen pond.

3. A negative image of......

Actually, a positive.

4. Water draining.

Some of these stools have had water on them when I've photographed them, but not this time. And they are yellow; the blue just looked good to me when I was pulling an AG, wildly slinging a slider. :-)

No one thought black holes??

Sole of a steam iron?

Yes! Why don't they make them in colors?

Good book title, too. "Soul of a Iron, A Steamy Look at the Creation of Order Out of
Chaos"

Thankful Moose
