I directly connect the camera and download to individual folders by date
using faststone. Then I delete using the camera. SD card is seldom
pulled and I've never had to re-format. I can wail as long as I want and
the photos are always sorted by date. If I choose to download and leave
the photos on the card as I do when traveling I am prompted to
overwrite, rename or skip. Easy.
