I THOUGHT it about the OoF background area of your Hosta image. But I know
you like grain, even add it sometimes, so I take the images as they are, and
only comment on other aspects.
You bring up a point. On the Hosta image, I exploited the flaws of the
analog process to effect. While those flaws were artificial (NIK
Software),
Hah!, I knew it!
they were what you would expect to see from an analog
process. The banding in your picture is the exploitation of the flaws
of the digital process to effect. There really is no difference. Both
pictures are fingernails-on-chalkboard.
