Gorgeous combo, Brian. I had one (handed down from my brothers), a 325 of the
same chassis style. Think it had over 200k miles on the odo when I was in a
fender bender and wasn’t worth fixing it, so we gave it away a family that
worked on cars, fixed them up, and sold them.

The motor in mine (M50B25), the predecessor of what you have, had the early
generation variable valve timing, and when it clicked into hi-perf mode (around
5krpms) you could hear and feel the change. Let’s just say the wide open roads
of west Texas, in canyon country, with sandstone on either side, a ribbon of
freshly paved asphalt, and early morning light, clean line of sight, no ramps,
was when it was right on the limiter for an extended period of time. Rock
solid. The speed indicated matched up nicely with speed calculated against mile
markers vs time elapsed.
