Probably 40 years ago I bought a driver for one of those tamper proof screws. Our GE iron wasn't working and the back plate with the AC cord was protected by one of those. The fix was easy once the screw was out.

Getting into my microwave to replace the lamp was the task that caused
me to buy the Kobalt set. Didn't work. My microwave has two screws
that are "Hexagon Internal Tamper Proof", hex with a center pin. I
didn't distinguish the difference until I started into it. I was able to
get enough grip on the outside of the screw head to get them loosened
up. A local electronics store had an assortment of lamps from which I
picked one, and it worked perfectly. I even have a spare.

Torx are a serious challenger to being 'the best' screwhead.

I've seen virtually no Pozidriv here. Fewer lately, I think. Still
lots of Philips. Some Torx outside of automobiles. A fair number with
Secure Torx.

Presumably to keep folks from frying themselves in an opened up
microwave oven, and such.

The Canuks, or at least some subset of them, have gone nuts* for
square drive. The made in Saskatoon interior of our little RV is all
square drive fasteners.
