As a racing fan, I've had plenty of exposure to hardcore NASCAR nuts.
It becomes really evident quickly that NASCAR's roots in the Southern
regions are still running deep. And don't you DARE suggest that Saint
Dale was an arrogant, dangerous man who was a hazard to other drivers
and ultimately to himself.... his choice to ignore safety measures and
proper equipment/practices led to his demise.
Right after he died, decals with the "3 with wings and a halo" were
everywhere.
