If the stitched image comprises 14 separate images side by side, or overlapped to some extent, the average angle of horizontal image capture for each stitched image is less than 10 degrees per image [135 / 14].

Something does not compute. Why bother with stitching 14 images side by side when a decent wide angle lens could [?] capture + / - 60 degrees per image when two side by side images would suffice.
