Thanks, Philippe. I realize that, in Fuji format, the 35 is effectively a 53, or normal lens. But the 35mm focal length, like the 28mm Elmarit-R that I tried to use on my Oly 4/3 cameras, is just hard to focus with a through-the-lens finder. The subject matter appears too small for accurate focusing. I have no trouble with 50mm and up. This makes the 35/2 AF look very attractive for the Fuji.

I realize that the magnifier will help. On a tripod, it would be fine. But, hand-held, it is like trying to look through a long telescope. :-(

Might lack this distinct signature I like, though.

Two lenses for different puposes
Both being very good at what they do best I'd say :-)

BTW: 35mm is not a WA on a fuji Jim. Rather it's the standard lens we all had in the form of Zuikos 50mm (I had the 1.4) or any'Crons or luxes 50, or even further back Asahis 50 1.4 and 55 1.8 (I had both) ;-)

Keep the good light coming to this place.

My conclusion is that the new Fuji 35mm AF lens would be a welcome addition.
