I learnt to type on an ASR-33 teletype, it was many years before I started
to use lowercase !

The same argument could be made about learning how to type. I still think
that learning how to type on a typewriter instead of a computer is the best
way. It teaches basic skills and thought process that is lost when you go at
it from a soft environment.
