I seem to recall something similar, Chuck. Maybe that is why the title immediately came to mind when I saw them bunched up. Then, it was just a matter of finding an angle in a constantly changing scene.

I have seen several comments about accidentally hitting buttons on these small cameras, but I hadn't encountered it until yesterday. I had a strange symbol pop up in the finder, and couldn't figure it out until I got home. I had taken white balance out of "Auto" somehow. It spoiled a bunch of indoor shots. Strangely, at least to me, the jpgs from the camera were better than any fix I could make to the RAW images.

When I saw the "little indians" sitting around the fire I couldn't help but remember a line from an unknown western I saw as a kid probably in the early 50s. An indian speaking to a cowboy who is building a very large fire says: "Indian build little fire, sit near. White man build big fire, gather wood all night." That's probably from 60-65 years ago but it's so clear in my brain I think the words are an exact quote. :-)

Strange the things we remember and also the things we forget.

I attended the last few minutes of an all-afternoon 10-yr birthday party

afternoon of swimming, water slides, and ball games, the air got cool,
and the remaining cousins gathered around the fire pit, reminding me of
little Indians around a campfire.
