Real women don't wear shoes like that. I wear Birkenstocks, boots or go

Carol would agree with you wholeheartedly. I don't believe she has ever worn high heels, and certainly not those sort of
pointy things. Not a Birkenstocker, she is a sandal and wide, soft, comfy shoe wearer. And boots that fit properly for
hiking. OTOH, there's a touch of Marcos complex in her accumulation of shoes and sandals. :-)
In fact, most of the women I know wouldn't touch such things. In fact, one of them remarked in a dream group meeting
yesterday that "nobody wears those shoes anymore". But in fact, many still do. We were recently at some place out of our
usual social milieu and I was surprised at most women wearing high heels. Then there were the coltish young girls at a
retreat Memorial Day staggering about in ridiculously high heels. I sort of hoped they were from the costume room, not
from their mothers' closets.
If you are wondering why stiletto heels came up, it's because of an acrobatic woman stabbing a man in the throat with
her stiletto heel as she sped by doing hand flips - in a dream I had. Very Hollywood!
