I saw it too, Chuck. I think that the sun caused this image to be underexposed, and the noise resulted from my pulling up the shadows. I ran it through Neat Image later, and it cleaned up fairly well.

The second is a locally-based LifeFlight helicopter returning to base

See large.  By posting as jpg instead of tif, the Exif data is
preserved, if you are interested.  No noise removal or sharpening was
applied to these images.
