Cyril,

Welcome to the list!

Of all the OM's, the OM-2S holds a very special place in my heart.
Mine has only recently entered semi-retirement. If it wasn't for the
OM-3ti and a pair of OM-4T bodies, it would be used more. It has a
wonderful sound, and with a slight delay after the aperture actuation,
it has less vibration problems than any other OM body.

The OM system is very wonderful for film photography and the OM lenses
are extremely good on digital. There are a few exceptions, but most of
the lenses perform very well and have excellent subject/background
separation.

The OM-2S is the only one with the live, no-button press,
spot-metering function. One feature that makes this camera very good
is the instant mode change capability. Here is an example of how this
camera really shines:

It's a sunny day and you are probably shooting at or near "sunny 16".
Set your aperture to whatever it is that you desire and the shutter
speed to the appropriate speed for a proper exposure. Then flip the
mode lever to the auto mode, which is aperture priority. As you shoot,
the shutter speed will be set by the camera, and should float around
that standard exposure setting. However, if it doesn't, because of
tricky lighting or the subject is too dark or too light and it's
fooling the meter, just flip the mode lever to manual to take your
picture and then flip it right back to auto.

While I really like the multi-spot metering system in the OM-3 and
OM-4 series of cameras, none of those cameras operate in such a
simplified and quick manner between auto and manual.
